[T]oday our memory reflects back on the twenty-five years that has threaded our lives. We’re here together at this particular moment because at some point in some way, the thread led through the program Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University. A quarter century may seem like a long time. It would be, according to our beloved Elise Boulding, one of our very first board members for the program when it first started. Her notion was that we live in a 200-year present. So it would have been approximately one tenth of that 200-year present that each of us occupies by way of the lifetimes that have touched ours and the lifetimes that we will touch…
