We have four very simple ideas and requests.

1. Let us start with the most basic of all Christian tenets: God is our rock and shield. True security is rooted in our radical dependence on God and the quality of divine love reflected in our relationships. In the end our safety does not lie in size or quantity of our weapons, nor from the protection of those people using them for good or bad reasons. It lies ultimately with the quality of God’s love in our relationships, even with those who hate us. Parents of America, or at least parents of Mennonite America, show us that you can live and relate without weapons, even when they are present around you…
