Communication and Conflict Schemes

Communication and Conflict Schemes

A figure from the book Preparing for Peace that outlines the steps of a simple communication sequence between two people, based on the popular saying, “I see what you mean.” The outline suggests two major divisions: first, between the two people and second, between what is internal to the person, and thereby unavailable and nonpalpable to the outside world, and what is available and observable in the social world. Within the sequence, we then have three key schemes, each based on knowledge and meaning.
