"Each and every one of us, both in the individual and in the group, have the ability to bring a presence to a situation where we are true to ourselves, but open and less fearful to understanding and seeing the world from the viewpoint of the experience of the other."
Coordinated by Okedonmu Children In Korea, the theme of the 2021 Korea Global Forum for Peace Education (KGFP) was “Peace Education in Divided Societies.” Through horizontal and reciprocal engagement, forum contributors from around the world shared their experiences of living and making positive changes in ‘divided societies’ with a focus on the role of peace education in building sustainable peace. In a Special Conversation session, Dong Jin Kim spoke with Gi Beom Lee and John Paul Lederach. Lee and Lederach shared about their pathways into the vocation of building peace, current challenges and opportunities for peacebuilding, and the generational journey of social change.
