John Paul Lederach speaks at the Beyond Us and Them Panel Discussion
"The ability to carve spaces that permit a few people to begin a process against moving against gravity is something you have to be willing to stay with for a while."

On March 14, 2019, Center for Council hosted “Beyond Us and Them,” a public screening and panel discussion at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles exploring ways to build bridges between seemingly disparate groups. Panelists included State Senator Holly Mitchell, Rabbi Yechiel Hoffman, and international peacebuilder John Paul Lederach. During the panel, John Paul Lederach spoke of the importance of a few people working together to create change. He explained this phenomenon as the “critical yeast” of a movement.
