The following pages will attempt to outline Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) peacemaking involvement in Somalia and Somaliland over the past number of years, or what might be considered the “current” phase of the conflict. What the phase includes, in and of itself, is an intriguing question (as it is in most contemporary internal conflicts) but for our purposes and the sake of simplicity refers to the period just prior to the fall of the Barre regime and the ensuing years since, or roughly 1989-1993…
