Social Transformation of Conflict

Social Transformation of Conflict

This diagram illustrates the process and dynamics that unfold as social conflict escalates. As a conflict moves from constructive to destructive, there is an increase in violence, less trust, less accurate communications, and less direct contact. The incremental shifts in social dynamics beginning from an orientation toward problem-solving and culminating with polarization are illustrated and defined.
